College Workshops and Academic Partnerships
Industry-ready workshops, curriculum alignment and long-term partnerships for colleges and universities that want their students to leave prepared for the work they will actually do.

- On-campus, across Maharashtra
- Delivered by working practitioners
The distance between theory and practice
Indian colleges teach fundamentals well. Students leave with a solid grasp of how computing works — the underlying models, the mathematics, the concepts that do not change. This is a real strength, and it is why our graduates compete globally.
But the industry that hires them does not only need the fundamentals. It needs people who can apply those fundamentals to the specific tools, the specific workflows and the specific problems of a working environment — and that application is where the gap most often shows.
-
Students lose confidence
Most graduates discover the gap in their first job — a difficult and expensive place to discover it.
-
Employers spend months catching up
New hires need months of hand-holding on things a two-day workshop could have exposed them to.
-
The syllabus can't keep pace
Departments struggle to keep their syllabus in step with an industry that changes faster than any curriculum cycle.
The Solid Shell exists to work on that gap with colleges and universities, not to point at it from outside. We bring the industry into the classroom through practical workshops, align what you already teach with what the industry currently expects, support your faculty with training and materials they can reuse, and run free introductory sessions so a college can see how we work before committing to anything.
Six ways we work with colleges and universities
From a single afternoon workshop to a multi-year academic partnership, we can work at whatever scale fits your department.
-
College workshops
Hands-on, on-campus workshops on cybersecurity, application security, network security, Linux, Python and AI. Delivered by working practitioners, using real tools on real systems.
-
Academic partnerships
Long-term relationships with departments that want an ongoing partner rather than a one-off event. Multi-batch programs, recurring workshops and internship-style engagement.
-
Curriculum alignment
Review of your existing syllabus against the current industry requirements for the roles your students target, with practical suggestions for what to keep, what to update and what to add.
-
Faculty support
Training and ongoing support for the teaching staff so the department can deliver industry-current content long after a workshop has ended.
-
Industry-ready skill programs
Structured, multi-week programs for final-year students that run alongside their studies and finish with a portfolio project worth showing to a recruiter.
-
Free seminars
Introductory sessions at no cost to the college. Cyber awareness, careers in cybersecurity, AI, Python, Linux and becoming industry-ready — see the full list on our College Sessions page.
“Every session is delivered by someone who does the work — not someone who used to do the work.”
A partnership in four steps
We start small. The first step costs your college nothing but a room and a slot in the timetable.
-
Introductory session Free
We visit your campus and deliver a practical, one-hour seminar on one of our free session topics. Students see how we work, faculty meet our trainers, and the department gets a real basis for deciding what comes next.
-
Scoping conversation
If the session lands well, we sit down with the department to understand what the students actually need — which roles they are targeting, where the current syllabus leaves gaps, and what delivery format fits your timetable. No proposal is sent until we both agree on what the problem is.
-
Pilot program
Most partnerships begin with a pilot: a single workshop or a short program for one batch. This gives both sides a real look at how the engagement works before committing to anything larger. Feedback from the pilot is used to shape whatever comes next.
-
Long-term partnership
Departments that want an ongoing relationship work with us across batches, years and topics. Curriculum reviews, recurring workshops, faculty training and final-year programs can all be part of a partnership scoped around what the department actually needs.
Questions from colleges
If your question is not answered here, our outreach team will answer it directly.
Nothing. The free introductory seminars listed on our College Sessions page are delivered at no cost to the college. There is no obligation to continue with any paid program afterwards. We offer these because we believe students should meet the industry while they are still studying, and because a real session is a better introduction than a brochure.
The earlier you get in touch the more flexibility we have on dates. Send us a message through the College Sessions page with your preferred window and we will tell you what is possible.
On-site delivery across Maharashtra is straightforward. For colleges further away, write to our outreach team to discuss what is feasible — we travel for multi-day workshops and longer engagements.
Yes, and that is usually the right approach. Our curriculum alignment work starts by understanding what your department already teaches well, then identifying what is missing relative to current industry practice. The output is a practical set of suggestions, not a demand to rewrite your course.
We do not currently offer a formal internship or placement program. We are happy to discuss specific arrangements with partner institutions, but we do not make placement claims or guarantee outcomes for any student. If we start offering something in this area, it will be announced on this page.
Email our outreach team at outreach@thesolidshell.com or use the request form on the College Sessions page. Both go to the same team. If you prefer to speak to someone, the training phone number on the Contact page reaches the same people.
Bring the industry into your classroom
Partnerships start with a conversation. Tell us about your department, your students and what you are hoping to achieve — and we will come back with something specific.
