About The Solid Shell
An India-based technology education and cybersecurity consulting company with one clear purpose: to close the distance between what is taught and what is needed.
- 6 Industry-focused courses
- 2 Practices — training & consulting
- 100% Placement assistance
- 1 Classroom academy — Badlapur East
The gap we exist to close
The Solid Shell was founded on a simple observation: every year, thousands of capable graduates leave Indian colleges with degrees in computer science, information technology and related fields, and every year, employers report the same thing — that the graduates they hire are bright, motivated and fundamentally underprepared for the work in front of them.
The gap is not one of intelligence or effort. It is one of exposure. Students are taught the theory exceptionally well and then handed a job where the theory is only a starting point.
Every course runs on machines, not slides.
“Doing both keeps us honest. The team that teaches is the team that delivers, and the problems we meet in the field go straight back into the classroom.”
We started The Solid Shell to work on that gap from both ends. On one side, we teach practical, industry-oriented courses to students and working professionals in cybersecurity, application security, network security, Linux, Python and AI — the subjects where the distance between academic teaching and industry practice is widest, and where the cost of that distance is highest. On the other side, we do the work ourselves: cybersecurity consulting, VAPT and security reviews for organisations that need real results, not a report that sits on a shelf.
We are based in Badlapur (East), in the Thane district of Maharashtra, within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. We work with students and colleges across India, and with organisations that need practical security work done well. We are not the largest company in this space, and we are not trying to be. We are trying to be the one that teaches something true and delivers something useful.
Mission & vision
Our mission
To equip students, professionals and organisations with practical, industry-ready skills in cybersecurity, application security, network security, Linux, Python and AI — through teaching that is grounded in current practice, delivered on real systems, and honest about what it can and cannot achieve.
Our vision
An India where every technology graduate leaves college with the practical skills, the confidence and the working habits the industry needs from day one — and where organisations of every size can get honest, competent security work without paying for theatre.
Our values
These are not aspirational statements we put on a wall. They are the standards we hold ourselves to when the choice is inconvenient.
Practicality over theory
We teach on real systems, with real tools, in environments where mistakes are safe to make. Slides introduce; labs teach.
Honesty about limits
We do not claim certifications, partnerships or outcomes we have not earned. Where we cannot yet say something, we say so plainly.
Craft in teaching
Teaching is a skill. We invest in it — in explanations that land, in examples that stay, and in feedback that helps you improve rather than just describes.
Ethics in security work
Security knowledge is powerful and easily misused. We teach and practise it within clear legal and ethical bounds, and expect the same from everyone we train.
Continuous learning
Tools change, techniques change, threats change. Course content and consulting methods are revised as they do, not held as they were.
Respect for your time and money
If a course is not right for you, we say so. If an engagement is not a fit, we say so. That is worth more than the fee for the wrong thing.
Precision and Protection
Our tagline is not decoration. It names the two ideas that shape every course we teach and every engagement we take on.
Precision
Precision means two things for us. First, teaching that is specific: accurate, current and free of the vague platitudes that fill most training material. If a technique is taught, it is because it is in use. If a tool is used, it is one a practitioner would actually reach for. Second, engagement work that is precise: scoped clearly, tested properly, and reported in a way that lets a development or operations team act on it without needing a follow-up meeting to understand what was found.
Precision also means being honest about uncertainty. There are areas of security where the right answer depends on context. We tell you that rather than pretend otherwise.
Protection
Protection is the end goal of everything we do. For students, it means protection of their career — the practical skills that make them employable, the working habits that make them effective, the judgement that keeps them out of trouble in a field where judgement matters. For organisations, it means protection of their systems, their data and the trust of the people who rely on them.
Protection is not something you buy once and set aside. It is a practice. We teach it as a practice, and we deliver it as one.
A short list, on purpose
We are not the only company doing this work in India. Here is what we think we do differently — and why it matters.
- Practitioners, not just instructors. The people who teach our courses are the same people who deliver our consulting work. They see the tools and techniques in use, not just in a manual.
- Lab-first delivery. Most of every session is spent on machines. Slides introduce concepts; they do not constitute the course.
- Training and consulting, together. Each side makes the other better. The consulting informs what we teach; the teaching forces us to keep our consulting explanations clear and reusable.
- Curriculum that keeps up. Content is revised as tools and threats change. Nothing in the catalogue is there because it was there last year.
- Clear scope, honest limits. No promises we cannot keep, no claims we have not earned, no fees for programs that are not the right fit.
Where we work

Our practical-learning philosophy
Learning a technical skill is not the same as learning a fact. You cannot read your way into being able to configure a firewall, review code for a security flaw, or diagnose why a service refused to start. Those skills are built by doing them — repeatedly, with feedback, in environments where the cost of being wrong is measured in minutes rather than in lost revenue or compromised data.
That is the entire basis of how we run our courses. Every session introduces a concept, then hands you a machine to try it on. Lab environments are disposable by design: if you break something, you reset it and try again. Graded challenges escalate from guided to open-ended so progress is visible to you, not just to the trainer. Projects are scoped like client work and reviewed the same way, so the finished thing is worth showing to someone who is not your instructor.
Disposable labs — break it, reset it, try again.
The other half of practical learning is honest feedback. We tell you where you are doing well and where you are not. If a topic is taking you longer than expected, we say so and help you work out why. If your final project is technically correct but would fail in production, we tell you that too. That conversation is one of the things you are paying for, and it is worth more than a certificate.
We cannot promise you a job. Anyone who does is selling you something other than education. What we can promise is that you will finish a course knowing things you did not know at the start, able to demonstrate them, and honest with yourself about what you still need to learn. That is a better foundation than a certificate and no capability.
